Winston Bennett spoke to several hundred of our associates and connected with them in a way many other speakers have not. His name recognition from UK basketball, his stories relating to personal challenges, packaged in an overall scheme of change and personal growth allowed our associates to think differently about change, and the value of change.
As one associate put it, "you guys talk about change all the time, but Mr. Bennett came at it from a different angle, and I get it now."
That was precisely what we hoped to achieve, and Winston did it with flying colors.
Mr. Bennett truly made the evening a success. He told stories of his basketball career both as a player and coach. I recommend Mr. Bennett as a feature speaker at any function. He would do well for any organization.
Mr. Bennett was the perfect choice to explain the importance of developing a sound health plan at an early age. His talk was not only informative but entertaining as well. He captivated the audience with this descriptions of various experiences while playing in the NBA. I believe Mr. Bennett is an inspirational speaker who would appeal to any age group.
Winston Bennett, MBA has learned through the tests and trials of life that if you are going to be a success you have got to fight. The fight is not against your competition, but against yourself. We are our own worst enemy. If you are to become great, you must overcome you. That means conquering our own self doubt. That means believing in ourselves, having a positive attitude when life looks bleak. That means having a vision for your life. You must have a relentless work ethic and you must have that burning desire to be the best.
After experiencing numerous career ending injuries, Winston continued to fight to achieve his dreams and his goals. Instead of relinquishing his dream to play basketball at the University of Kentucky, and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA, he continued to fight. If you are going to be successful in life, you too will have to fight for you life. However, when you decide to be successful, no matter what the field of endeavor, expect challenges.
Winston believes you only become successful in life after you have received your PHD. You must be Poor in spirit (humble), Hungry in your pursuit (passionate), and Driven in the direction of your goals (tenacious). It has been said, if you continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to get the results you have always received.
